Without a doubt Kopra Ridge is one of the best short treks in Nepal, combining all the elements of a classic trek, from remote villages and wildlife, to panoramic views and a varied environment from forest to high alpine scenery. The Kopra Ridge Trek is located away from the busier treks of the Annapurna region. For four nights of the trek you will overnight in communal accommodation of the local village people. The mountain views from Kopra Ridge are magnificent and you can see Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang and Nilgiri. From Ghandruk you can also see Mount Machhapuchhre (also known as Fish Tail) and Mount Hiunchuli. For the first two days of the trek you follow the popular trails at the foot of Annapurna through terraced fields, rhododendron forests and villages of the Gurung. After Tadapani, you will leave the main trail, enjoy more secluded trails and overnight in communal accommodation during the following five days. Kopra Lodge at an altitude of 3,660m will most certainly reward for getting up very early allowing an impressive sunrise over the summit panorama of the Himalayas and a correspondingly 'late' breakfast. The descent leads through high pastures, oak forests and rhododendron to the village of Swanta, where you will again stay in a communal accommodation. Afterwards you descend to Ulleri and the next day is the last trekking day to Naya Pull, from where a private transfer takes you and your fellow yoga trekkers to Pokhara.
